Vermiculite

£5.50£18

Vermiculite is a heat expanded mica mineral which is used in mushroom cultivation as a water reserve, to provide micro-nutrients and to aerate bulk substrates to promote faster colonisation and larger flushes.

Hand-Packed with ❤ in Bristol, UK.

Available in both medium and fine grades. We recommend the fine grade as it has a greater water retention capacity and is more suitable for an external casing when doing a ‘dunk and roll’ using BRF cakes.

  • Sterile by nature
  • Soft mica mineral
  • Mould resistant, non-toxic and odourless
  • Minimal dust
  • Provides aeration to substrate

Often used in combination with Coconut Coir to provide a simple bulk substrate for various mushrooms.

    MUSHCULT

fine vermiculite is all you need for mushroom cultivation purposes. Package arrived quickly, prices are good, had a few free samples, a chocolate bar, a thank you note and an instructional booklet. Can't really ask for more than that – great customer service

ordered to use as a dunk and roll casing for my BRF cakes. Delivery was quick. the fine vermiculite sticks to the cake better than the bigger vermiculite. will be using this from now on

so far jars are showing strong signs of rhysomorphic growth. First time I've used the fine stuff but performing good in brf jars

An excellent product for mushroom cultivation with the finer grade generally allowing for denser cakes and better pinsets after the dunk and roll. Like previous reviewer stated. It does stick to the cake better than the coarser grades which is all I can get from my local gardening store. Happy with purchase and have lots left over for future grows. Thank you.
